It's been a busy day with not much chance to take It's been a busy day with not much chance to take photos. We drove over to Nerja for Clive to work on the new shower. I do love the scenery as you drive towards Zafarraya. We had lunch on the patio, Carlotta wasn't impressed that she had to sit in her highchair. I tried taking her for a walk to get her to sleep as she was up all night coughing but no luck. The communal pool looked inviting, it's one of the few communal pools that stays open over the winter which is very lucky. I received my first Poinsettia when I got home, it must be nearly Christmas 🥰.

I decided to take time to smell the roses and took Milly for a walk along the river. Everywhere looks so stunning with the autumn colours against the deep blue sky. We seem to have been surrounded by cloud so we have been very lucky. Lovely to see the gorse in flower too. The girls came down to help with the horses early this morning though Matilda was more interested in pretending to be Fern and trotting around the arena 🥰. I did force myself to be inside for a while to touch up the paint in El Establo - I noticed when I went in there to do something else that the bright sun was showing up some dirty paintwork. Bonnie's golden chestnut coat blended beautiful wi Bonnie's golden chestnut coat blended beautiful with the autumn leaves on the walnut tree, such a lovely contrast against the deep blue sky. I potted up the winter pansies and Clive made some chilli sauce. Later I looked after the girls, Milly was on guard while they did some drawing. This afternoon Clive and Martin went to the Victoria brewery in Málaga. The tour and talk with beer tasting (5 whole bottles each 😮) was really interesting, they would definitely recommend it and they speak English too! They came home with a few bottles of the Christmas special. While they were there Lily and I took the girls to the playground at the Plaza Mayor shopping centre. Carlotta loved the Landrover and didn't want to get off. She was also fascinated by the water spouts which popped up at random. It was like playing Russian roulette, not knowing if water was going to spout up where she was standing 🤣. The stray dog is still around, no idea when we'll be able to let the chickens out to free range again 😪

By the time we left at 9 to go to Granada shopping there was a mist in the valley. The Nevada shopping centre on the outskirts of Granada is a really great shopping centre and looked very pretty , decorated for Christmas. There was a Belen to visit (nativity scene) too. Lovely to have a view of the Sierra Nevada ski resort from the car park! On the way home we were shocked to see huge fields of solar panels, such an ugly blot on the landscape. We do love the view looking down on the town of Loja from the motorway, it looks like it has some interesting buildings , though whenever we have tried to explore the town we have never found anything, I can't help thinking there is more to find. We found this mini armchair, exactly the same as ours, in Ikea - if money was no object it would be such fun to buy a couple for the girls, they would think it was very funny 🤣
The air seemed thick this morning and it was incre The air seemed thick this morning and it was incredibly warm when we did the horses at 8am. The sun rays looked pretty through the cloud as we drove over to Nerja. Clive got on with the new shower and I gave the garage doors a 2nd coat of paint . I found out that it is not just our kitchen book shelf that Carlotta likes to destroy 🤣. We spent quite a bit of time on the terrace watching for Mama and Grandad to come back and then watching Papa move some plaster board inside, it was all so interesting, I couldn't persuade her inside 🥰. We had lunch on the terrace before driving home in time to do the horses. The autumn colours are coming at last and the sky was quite dark in places with localised rain showers. We had obviously had a shower at home which was enough to dampen the dust in the horses paddock, judging by the state of Bonnie and Twiggy! The evening sun combined with the dark sky was beautiful.
